On Friday, March 29, 2024, the Harvest International Ministries’ ever-popular Harvest Praise Concert took place in the First Love Centre in East Legon, Accra, creating an unforgettable night of praise.

CHECK THIS OUT: Dada Hafco stated that Afua Asantewaa has saved the image of Ghanaian music.

Hundreds of people attended the event, which packed both the wide ground floor and the auditorium’s gallery section.

This year’s concert, Anapuao, which means Rest in Greek, began exactly at 4 p.m., as advertised on the flyers, with the host choir, Harvest Praise Choir, leading the audience in an incredible time of worship and praise.

The tempo in the amphitheater increased as American musicians Phil Thompson and Alvin Slaughter took the stage.

It was an exhilarating atmosphere as they led patrons to recognize God’s magnificence and the importance of worshiping him. And that’s not all; Eternity Ghana, Gospel Music Group delivered an unforgettable performance, leaving the audience wanting more long after they were finished.

The concert featured a motivational message from Harvest Chapel International’s Senior Pastor, Rev. Fitzgerald Odonkor, titled Purpose of the Cross. Taking his text from Hebrews 9:26 and John 19:17, he stated that Jesus stopped man’s efforts to reach God through the Cross.

He went on to say that Jesus became the lamb sacrificed in place of all animal sacrifices offered in atonement for sin in the Old Testament.

According to Rev. Odonkor, with Jesus’ blood, all other offerings became obsolete. He emphasized that Easter should not be seen as a routine celebration because a price was paid.

“There is a purpose for the cross. At the cross, every effort that man had made via the sacrifice of bulls, goats, and other animals came to an end with Jesus’ one sacrifice. He emphasized that on Good Friday, Jesus Christ offered Himself once and for all on the cross.

He advised Christians to take advantage of Jesus’ blood, which provides salvation, peace, hope, and healing, among other benefits. The audience felt genuinely moved by the evening.

In an interview following the show, numerous attendees expressed their gratitude to the event’s organizers and looked forward to a beautiful time in God’s presence next year.

Charles Amankwa said his mood was revived after arriving at the site with a sorrowful heart: “My sister, something had happened earlier in the day, therefore I was down paa oo. I did not even want to come.

I only came since I did not want my money squandered. I can assure you that I am presently okay. “I thank God I came.” Nana Ama Sikapa, a banker, stated that she has not missed the program since she was introduced to it about a decade ago.

She stated that attending the event always makes her feel revitalized. Harvest Praise is an annual Christian musical outreach event organized by Harvest International Ministries (HIM).

The event began in 1998 and has been held every Good Friday thereafter.  Its goals include positively influencing people’s lives through high-quality live musical and drama performances, as well as providing a refreshing experience.

Harvest Praise has become a popular Easter tradition in Ghana, and it remains one of the country’s largest and longest-running yearly Christian concerts.
